Hair For Fall

 Fauxhawk

Inspired by two women artists of the 19th century, impressionist painter Berthe Morisot and print maker Marie Laurencin, for Chanel’s autumn/winter 2021 show, creative director Virginie Viard translated rich, painterly marks into sumptuous tweeds and delicately embroidered dresses. As for beauty, feminine codes were presented with an edge. Hair was styled into braided mohawks, which folded elegantly over models’ foreheads and were tied at the back with big black bows which blew
in the wind behind them.
